Microelectronic Materials and Devices
Course Description
Semiconductor crystal structures, Schrodinger Equation and energy bands of charges in semiconductors. Charge concentration and conduction mechanism. Bipolar junction devices. Metal and semiconductor contacts, MOS devices. Photonic devices. Integrated circuit blocks, fabrication technology basics. Device modeling and simulation techniques. Cross-listed with ECE 4130. Credit cannot be received for both ECE 4130 and ECE 5130.
