Principles of Digital Communications

Course Description

Source coding, signal design, modulation and demodulation. The optimal receiver principle, synchronization, communications over narrow band channels, fading channels and error correction codes. Formerly EE 534, ECE 534. Credit can be received for only one of EE 534, ECE 534 and ECE 5210. Prerequisite(s): (ECE 5206 and completion of a prior course in communication systems) or instructor permission.
