Machine Vision

Introduction to machine vision and hands-on experience to solve real-life vision problems. Topics include image formation (impacts of lighting and optics), image processing, feature detection, and matching feature-based alignment. Introduction to neural networks and machine learning, and their use in image processing. Industrial applications for machine vision, gauging, inspection; guidance, and identification. Programming with MATLAB, Python, and OpenCV along with laboratory-based projects. This course is cross-listed with an undergraduate course. Credit can be awarded for only one of ECE 4510 or ECE 5510.
