Electrcl & Comptr EngineeringSchool of Egr. and Comp. Sci.

Course Title

Microgrid Design and Operation

Course Description

Microgrids are entities that are composed of at least one distributed energy resource and associated loads, which not only operate safely and efficiently within the local power distribution network but also can form intentional islands in electrical distribution systems. This course covers the fundamentals of designing and operating microgrids. Specifically includes modeling of generation resources and loads for design and operation ofmicrogrids; their optimal operation and control strategies; and investigates interconnection, reliability and protection in microgrids. Students need basic knowledge of energy systems.
