Intelligent Vehicle Control Systems

This course will introduce advanced control design techniques for intelligent vehicle control systems. Topics will include lead/lag compensator design, loop shaping, system norms, H2-optimal control, feedback linearization, sliding surface control, and observer design. Applications will include adaptive cruise control, automated lane keeping, platooning, yaw stability control, rollover prevention, suspension control systems. In each application, a control-oriented model will be developed, and control design will be studied in-depth.ME 5206 and ME 4206 are cross listed - Credit cannot be received for both ME 5206 and ME 4206.
