Nuclear Reactors and Power Plants
Course Description
The study of various nuclear power plant types and systems; Rankin Cycle thermodynamics; BWR, ESBWR and PWR power plants; engineered safety systems; nuclear regulations, codes and standards; reactor safety fundamentals; economic and environmental issues. This course is cross listed with an undergraduate course. Credit cannot be received for both ME 4585 and ME 5585. This course includes a project. Offered winter.Prerequisite(s): Student must meet prerequisite (ME 4500 and ME 5580).Prerequisite or Corequisite: ME 4520
