Course Description
Fundamentals of plastic materials. Terminology and nomenclature for plastics. General topics dealing with plastics, such as structure, morphology, properties, etc. Focus on mechanical and physical properties and mechanical behavior of plastics. Plastics processing, testing, design and recycling is introduced. Project required. This course is cross listed with an undergraduate course. Credit cannot be received for both ME 5610 and ME 4610.
