Thermal Transport Phenomena

Course Description

Development of the fundamental continuum equation expressing conservation of energy. Radiation and conduction heat transfer, extended surfaces, multi-dimensional conduction problems, and one-dimensional unsteady conduction problems. Convective heat transfer, thermal boundary layer theory, forced and natural convection, and two-phase flow phenomena. Offered fall. Formerly ME 648.
