Course Description
In depth study of selected topics in tribology. Examples include: friction and wear theories, temperature rise due to frictional sliding, oil film thickness calculations, contact mechanics, friction and wear, mechanisms of metals, polymers and ceramics, engine and bearing tribology.Offered winter, odd years. Prerequisite(s): Student must meet prerequisite (ME 5710).
