Advanced Finite Elements

Course Description

Nonlinear finite element formulation for large deformation, plasticity and creep; incremental and iterative solution technique; design optimization; use of a finite element code in engineering applications such as stamping, metal forming, contact mechanics, buckling analysis, mechanics of composites and nonlinear transient dynamics. Offered winter, even years. Prerequisite(s): Student must meet prerequisite (ME 6410).
