Course Description

Markov chains, random walks, pure birth process, Poisson processes, birth and death processes, renewal theory, models of epidemic and accident occurrences, diffusion processes, queuing models, applications in biological and physical sciences. Formerly STA 615. Prerequisites: STA 5225 and STA 6113.
