Numerical Methods

Course Description

Approximations and interpolations, propagation of errors, numerical differentiation and integration, solutions of equations, Newton's method, solutions of differential equations and initial value problems, Runge-Kutta and predictor-corrector methods. Required background includes courses in linear algebra and differential equations. APM 5333 is cross-listed with an undergraduate course, APM 4333. Student may not receive credit for both courses. Prerequisite(s): Required background includes courses in linear algebra and differential equations.
