Contemporary American Higher Education

Course Description

Provides students with a broad understanding of contemporary American higher education through an examination of its current status and emerging future. Includes an examination of how higher education is organized, financed and governed at national, state, and local levels. Students will also examine the contemporary issues, policy debates, core values, political forces, and national trends impacting higher education. Students must be admitted to the Ph.D. program, the Master's in Nursing Education, the Post-Master's Certificate in Higher Education, or have permission of the instructor. Formerly ED 911 (ED 7500)
