Numerical Methods for Mechanical Engineering
Course Description
Introduction to numerical analysis applied to mechanical engineering. Error analysis, roots of equations, direct and iterative solutions of systems of equations, optimization, finite difference methods, ordinary differential equations, curve fitting. Emphasis on programming techniques using Matlab; practical engineering analysis. Applications drawn from all areas of mechanical engineering. Formerly ME 549.
