Intermediate Heat Transfer

Course Description

Continued study of conduction, convection and thermal radiation heat transfer; exact solutions of one- and two-dimensional steady conduction; introduction to finite difference methods; transient conduction; thermal boundary layers; natural and combined convection; radiation processes and properties; radiation exchange between surfaces. With laboratory. Generally offered winter. This course is cross listed with an undergraduate course. Credit cannot be received for both ME 5520 and ME 4520.
