Introduction to Electric Drive Vehicle Engineering
Course Description
Operating principles for key components of electric and hybrid vehicles including batteries, electric motors, power electronics, transmissions, internal combustion engines, fuel cells, and hydrogen storage systems. Alternative vehicle architectures including mild and strong hybrid vehicles, full battery electric vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles. Analysis of vehicle performance and efficiency. Prerequisite(s): Senior or graduate standing in the science orengineering disciplines. Fundamental understanding of basic physics and chemistry needed. Cross-listed with 4535.
