Clinical Neurological Examination & Evaluation

This course will focus on the neurophysiology, neuroanatomy and neuroscience behind the workings of an intact and a dysfunctional nervous system affected by different neurological diagnoses.  Emphasis will be placed on conducting a complete neurological examination, including movement analysis and its relationship to specific impairments, and interpreting the examination results for various different types of neurological disorders to formulate a foundation for therapeutic intervention.  Concepts will be reinforced through the use of case studies and lab components including community participants with neurological diagnoses for experiential learning of examination and evaluation skills.Prerequisite: PT 6816
